With Thanksgiving on the horizon, it’s the perfect season to try your hand at some homemade cranberry sauce. I know it’s easy to grab a can or jar off the shelf at your local supermarket, but it’s just about as easy to make it yourself! This 3-ingredient, 1-pot recipe creates a flawless jellied cranberry sauce in no time.

For the perfect pairing, serve it together with your traditional Thanksgiving turkey, but feel free to also enjoy it as a breakfast jam or to flavor your favorite yogurt!

Cranberries are a very good source of vitamin C, dietary fiber, and manganese, as well as a good source of vitamin E, vitamin K, copper and pantothenic acid. The unique blend of antioxidants in the cranberry contributes to its potent health benefits.

A great accompaniment to meats that can be heavy to digest, our easy jellied cranberry sauce adds a perfect blend of sweet and tart to any main course. Don’t hesitate to try out this recipe right now and even get some jars ready for Christmas!

Ingredients:

• 12 oz cranberries
• 2/3 cup sugar
• 2/3 cup orange juice

Directions:

1. Set aside about a 1/2 cup of cranberries, and place the rest in a pot over low heat.
2. Add the sugar and orange juice and mix well.
3. Cook for 10 minutes to allow the cranberries to soften, stirring regularly.
4. Cook for an additional 10-12 minutes over medium heat, stirring regularly, until the cranberries pop open and form a jellied texture. Add the 1/2 cup of whole cranberries during cooking to vary the texture in the sauce.
5. Store in an airtight jar and let cool.
