After years of hard work and research alongside my Scientific Committee. After hundreds of hours spent interviewing experts in nutrition, physical health, psychology, weight management and fitness. After reading, analyzing and answering thousands of BootCamper’s questions and sifting through dozens of journalist’s questions, I am happy and proud to present you the new LeBootCamp Diet US edition!
(And can I brag for a minute? The LeBootCamp Diet is on the best-sellers lists in the UK, Italy and France!). So elated to see more and more people ready to lose weight the healthy way!)
As you know, I have surrounded myself with the high flying doctors, eminent professors and other authors of studies published in reputable medical journals that form my Scientific Committee. I have to extend a very special thank you to Prof. Hack, Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Stanford University and Head of Gastroenterology at Stanford Hospital, for endorsing my book.
What is the role of my committee? To keep abreast of every published medical study in the field of nutrition, fitness, well being and health in general as well as new trends, fad diets and other potentially dangerous craze in the sliming and fitness world.
Together, we spend long hours discussing how to continuously improve the weight loss and well being program that is LeBootCamp so we can offer you a cutting edge healthy slimming program. The advantage of working with a group of experts is the absence of a single dogmatic line of thinking. Instead we constantly challenge and analyze the best that is out there, and we aren’t afraid to update our knowledge.
We got ti the point where we needed to update my program and my diet. So, what’s new?
Let me introduce you to my new 4X4 LeBootCamp Diet!
4 phases – 4 pillars – 4 pledges – 4 principles
? Gourmet nutrition, because no food is forbidden
? Easy fitness, because it is best to learn to be active a little every day rather than only once in a while
? Motivation, because that is the key to sticking to it
? Sleep and stress management because well being is at the heart of successful durable weight loss.
The 4 principles that have always governed every other aspect of LeBootCamp Diet:
The big newcomer of this new edition of LeBootCamp is the Benchmark, the answer to the weight loss plateau. Up to now, a plateau usually sounded the alarm bells of failure and resulted in sometimes desperate behavior in an attempt to break it. Usually a mix of “ I starve myself and exercise till I drop”.
This is over. You are now going to learn not only why this approach doesn’t work but also why we actually like plateaus and ask for more. They are the warranty of permanent weight loss. Based on a clinical study, this concept is called Benchmarking.
Each Benchmark is the opportunity to establish a new highest reference weight that you will never go over ever again. This is partly what I have been studying with Min Jee who’s weigtht loss I have been documenting in my blog over the last year.
One other big remodel, is the integration of all the new research throughout the 4 program phases. Each one brings a new concept to adopt and make part of your life. That way, by the end of the program, you have changed your lifestyle a little at a time day after day until you have created a new “normal” and no longer feel “on a diet” you have to manage.
The new phases are the following:
Detox: lasting 2 weeks. Concept learned: detox
Attack: a phase that lasts as long as is required to lose 75% of the excess weight. Concept learned: Glycemic Load (GI is indeed outmoded in 2015!)
Maintenance: for life, as that is the lifestyle part where the last 25% is shed whilst refining the last healthy habits that will become a part of your life for good. Concept learned: pH balance
Booster: my ace card phase. It lasts 7 days and has two purposes: use to end a benchmark period during Attack, or at any time during Maintenance when you feel the need (after a period of exceptional indulgence or after stressful periods etc.). This phase helps us do the equivalent of a deep Detox and tackle candida for a flatter tummy. Concept learned: the candida connection.
The new book is of course full of fitness exercises, my beloved 25th has grown further, it has plentiful new motivational tips and new recipes with many new yummy buckwheat treats.
