It’s Thursday! And that means a new recipe video on our LeBootCamp YouTube Channel.
Check out our fun cooking section created just for you: #LaBonneCuisine Cooking.
Today’s recipe is one you may have been musing about: how do I make ketchup that’s not too high in sugar and calories but still has a genuine ketchup taste? Because, let’s face it, there are lots of homemade ketchup and tomato sauce recipes out there, and whilst a basic tomato coulis is super healthy, it just doesn’t cut it when we want our ketchup!
If you’re a member of LeBootCamp or if you follow me on social media, by now you know that I’m all about a little of everything in moderation. I call it my “80% perfect 20% imperfect” approach, which means most of the time I eat clean, and when I have a treat, I enjoy it guilt-free. So yes, this ketchup recipe has some light corn syrup (I emphasize LIGHT) and a little bit of sugar, but overall still healthier than the regular processed kind!
Serve it as a condiment on your dinner table, or gift some to a friend in a pretty glass jar. Homemade dishes are back and trending!
Note: respect the proportions of this recipe as accurately as possible! This is how you will get the taste of ketchup which we love. Here are the ingredients for about 1 + 1/4 cups of Homemade Ketchup:
- 6-ounce can of tomato paste
- 1/2 cup of light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup of white vinegar
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
I would love to get your feedback on this recipe! Feel free to send photographs of your homemade ketchup to votreco[email protected]. The best ones will be published on my blog !
Bon appétit!
