That’s it, I’m flying to Union Glacier on the Antarctica continent! After TWO years of preparation, training and dreams!
I left since December 1, but this expedition organized in this terrible Covid context is slowed down by the daily PCR tests we need to take (8 total!).
Yesterday we prepared our food for the coming weeks: Breakfast, lunch, and dinners. We will burn on average between 3500 per day on Vinson and 5000 while skiing towards the South Pole. So, we will eat accordingly!
Program
I will start by climbing Mt Vinson then I will go back down to Union Glacier to change gear and then head to the South Pole on my special skis. It’s going to be intense, and cold, and long, but I’m going to love every second of it. I know that this kind of extraordinary project can sometimes shock or seem crazy, I am well aware of it. But on the one hand I love it and on the other hand, I am a firm believer that you can only coach others if you fight against the elements and difficulties and learn from them.
