Today, as I like to do regularly in this blog, I give the floor to one of our BootCampers. On this occasion I would like to introduce you to Frederique who is going to share some of the secrets to her Success Story with us.
« I am 37 years old and have been a LeBootCamp method subscriber for a year, since September 2013 to be exact. Over the years trials and tribulations, small and bigger worries have caused the pounds to pile on little by little, stealthily, insidiously. I went from an 8 to a 10, then a 12 and I was bordering on a size 14… As a rule I didn’t weigh myself and found excuses: I was exercising regularly, I was eating out frequently with work and had always heard that it was just the fate of women in my family: “we are sturdy”. After all, I was one of the least overweight of them all and fortunately, as an hourglass, put weight on evenly all over… It was the shock of my grand-mother’s untimely death, in may 2012, that brought it all home for me. She hadn’t been taking care of herself for years and could have lived a lot longer had she done so.
By June 2012, I am feeling really unhappy about myself and weigh 76 kg (167.5lbs) for 1.68m. At first I try and fight the battle on my own, I increase my physical activity a little and watch what I eat. That translates into a huge amount of frustration as I am living in a state of deprivation with a non-existent social life to avoid temptation. At the end of August I take stock: 5 kgs (11 lbs) lost and 2 (4 lbs) regained after my vacation… my goal to reach 65 kg (143 lbs) seems such a long way away. On my own, I am powerless.
I then stumble upon a promotion for LeBootCamp. I check the reviews on the internet and the principles seem healthy to me: a sensible dietary method shaped around regular physical exercise. I apply and from that moment on I follow Valerie Orsoni’s techniques to the letter, might as well do it right!
I took a 6 month subscription and immediately fell in love with the method: the website is an amazing tool that provides menu suggestions with corresponding recipes each week, it also allows me to track my weight in a chart and keep a daily journal where I can record my meals, physical activity, my moods, mistakes and achievements… This helped me know myself better, understand my lapses and weaknesses and therefore foresee and manage them better. Today, I have established good reflexes: come what may, I never leave the house without having had my morning fresh lemon juice, my sobacha for the day and my bag of 10 almonds in case of a munchies attack.
What I also love about the program, are the a nutritional and fitness tips we receive each day: I now find myself more educated and more knowledgeable about weight management than if I had only been sent ready meals. But, best of all, the cherry on the cake, is that LeBootCamp doesn’t forbid anything, allows us treats and indulgences as long as we adapt our level of exercise accordingly. For me, that means no more frustration. I am enjoying the pleasure of a healthy diet and my body thanks me for it.
Today I weigh 62 kg (137 lbs) and wear a size 8 again. I had gone down to 60 kg (132 lbs) in March, but put 2 kg (4 lbs) back on from exercising every day whereby increasing my muscle mass. My body fat percentage was of 31% in September 2013 and it is now down to 23%. I have decided to become a serious runner whereas I hated running a year ago. I now get terribly restless should I have 2 days without exercising!
I now want to stay in touch with the LeBootCamp community, because this is far more than just a diet, my entire lifestyle has had a makeover with the solidarity and support of all those who are or have been in my situation. As the pictures testify, I look 10 years younger! A new lease of life!”
