Reap the nutritional benefits of kale and banana in this delicious energy smoothie!
Kale is rich in vitamins A, C and K, as well as lutein and zeaxanthin, carotenoids that help prevent macular degeneration. Kale is also high in fiber, rich in flavonoids and antioxidants, and packed with minerals and trace elements: manganese, copper, calcium, iron, phosphorus and magnesium.
Bananas are a fantastic source of potassium, which helps regulate the fluids levels in our body. The equation is simple: the more fluids retained in our body, the more toxins are stored; the fewer fluids, the fewer toxins. What’s more, bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein which the body converts into serotonin – a natural relaxant; and add to that high levels of vitamin B, which help calm the nervous system!
Ingredients for 1 smoothie:
8 kale leaves (each about the size of your hand)
1 cup of almond milk or any other vegan milk
1 banana
4 dates, pitted
3 drops of vanilla extract
Directions:
Blend all the ingredients in a blender, and enjoy right away!
