As we entered 2018 my curiosity was at its peak, so I asked my team to get me a number: the total number of pounds lost on LeBootCamp in 2017. Of course – as I always say – weight itself isn’t everything and your body shape, clothing size, and energy levels are all excellent indicators as well, but sometimes a number is helpful in measuring our progress, and it also serves to boost our motivation in advancing further.
So…drum roll…tadaaaaaaa!
Across the globe this 2017, you lost over 46 tons, ladies (and some guys)! This means surges of renewed energy, smaller clothing sizes, and smiles all around!
Your energy, social media sharing, empathy for fellow BootCampers, and your amazing efforts have all paid off: the LeBootCamp weight loss and wellness program has helped you reach your goals. I’m so proud!
I know that some days can be rougher than others – hey, I went through this journey myself! But by supporting each other and gradually putting healthy habits in place, we can get there. Trust your coach. #TeamNoExcuse!
I believe that in order to truly coach someone in weight loss and wellness, you need to have experienced the overweight struggle yourself. To truly understand the distress that seizes us when the scale doesn’t budge and how to push forward when motivation is low. That’s why I became a coach: to help you achieve your goal with a medically proven approach and scientifically-backed coaching techniques.
To achieve your ideal weight & body:
- It’s not enough to follow videos of a perfect-looking YouTuber who sells you her dream via a fitness or nutrition e-book
- It’s not enough to read a book and to expect results without doing anything
- It’s not enough to spend money on miracle supplements that only melt your wallet and not the pounds (and no, it’s not because a gorgeous-looking model is in the promo that the supplement works – in 99% of the cases, she’s been paid to create a before and after)
- It’s not enough to whine and say, “But nothing ever works for me so I have to do something radical – I want to start a mono-diet.”
- Anyone wearing a white blouse who tells you “eat 800 calories a day, my dear,” is far from an expert in nutrition
- It’s not enough to go for lap band surgery or other such operations which have long-term effects that are not always easy to manage (be wary of people who urge you to do weight loss surgery as they did, but who simultaneously hide any pain or challenges post-procedure. The shame of being mistaken often makes them hide the full truth!).
NO!
In order to achieve your ideal weight & body, you need to:
- Educate yourself about nutrition and fitness: indeed, we have a brain and we are able to ask questions
- Get motivated, and learn how to motivate others: seeing the results of our efforts on ourselves and on the people around us is extremely rewarding
- Know where to find motivation through proven techniques (I share a wealth of techniques with you in my LeBootCamp weight loss & wellness coaching program)
- Plan your meals according to your desires – and not according to others (and stop wanting to please Mrs. Jones who celebrates her umpteenth event with a big chocolate cake and makes you feel guilty if you don’t take a piece)
- Arrange your daily schedule according to your fitness needs and not according to the folder on your desk labeled URGENT which an “energy vampire delivered at 7pm
- Trust the process: accept that the pounds that took 5 to 10 years to stick to your body will not fly away in 30 days
- Accept that weight loss is never linear: You lose a little, you gain a little, you lose little, you keep losing, you stabilize, and you lose again. The body is not a machine and it has its own reasons and ways of working that we sometimes ignore
- Taking care of your family is important, but taking time for yourself is essential for your well-being. Remember that in order to love others, you must first love yourself
- Lastly, understand that absolutely everyone in the world can lose weight and tone up
