What a thrill! This week, as she was exercising on her elliptical machine, Min Jee lost her pants! In other circumstances one could be forgiven for getting upset about such an event, but on this occasion, it was cause for celebration as this meant that she had dropped a whole dress size… happiness! She has gone from XXL to XL, for the first time in her adult life. Check out the latest picture of her… here we are, after a little over a month of coaching, achieved without deprivation, nor misery in the plate but with joy, good humor and easy manageable exercise sessions.
When it comes to food, she regaled herself with gluten free pizzas (we are doing a 3 week gluten free trial to see whether it might help – or not – speed up her weight loss). She mentioned feeling hungrier than she had up to now. She is likely to have adjusted to her new diet and her body and/or her mind are resisting. At any rate, she is doing extremely well, she has gone from plugging hunger pangs with burgers and fries to snacking on greek yogurt with wholegrain crackers. What progress!
Sample lunch: buckwheat ramen noodles, fish and rice, a typically Korean menu but with much less rice than she used to have.
She had already converted her whole family to Sobacha, now it’s her work colleagues’ turn to take to it!
On the fitness side: she has increased the resistance on the machines from 1 to 10 and even to 14 for 10 minutes. I am telling you, her motivation is through the roof! She reminds me of Christine Fleury, Mariette Brun, Beatrice Marchant,… other remarquable Bootcampers who have inspired us with their journeys (I will tell you their stories if you are curious about these ladies)
Min Jee tells me that regular exercise is her secret weapon to success and she is right! Over the last 14 days she could have found so many excuses with her very demanding job, but she worked out every day. EVERY SINGLE ONE!
And now for the cherry on the cake, certain individuals, having heard about the challenge she was taking on and the work she was doing to lose her excess weight, offered her miracle pills composed of phentermine (100mg caffeine and other products that increase cardiac rhythm). She turned them down point blank. “NO WAY JOSE” she told them. Good decision, Min Jee, you make me proud!
See you next week after our meeting with Prof. Hack of Stanford Hospital for a complete check up.
