From Zimbabwe, via Miami to the heart of Marylebone….
I love Marylebone high street. It has the buzz of the West End without the crowds, lively any day of the week without being touristy. Come rain or shine, the street offers great boutique shopping with a spot of people watching. In my view, the perfect escape from the hustle and bussle of nearby Oxford Street.
In true British fashion there is nothing better than a cup of tea paired with something sweet to restore aching bodies after a busy day in town or to fuel a good bout of gossip with the girls. Or both, we are multitaskers after all.
What a delight it was to discover Amanzi Tea Bar and Shop in New Cavendish Street, a stone throw from my favourite stretch of the West end!
You probably guessed by the name itself, Amanzi flagship store is not your usual granny place. Oh no, this is tea lover’s heaven without the intimidating pomposity of zen tea rooms.
The first thing you notice is the warm welcoming feel. As you walk in you are greeted with a smile and then left to take your time looking around and picking your seat. The choice of blends and flavours is exceptional and none of them disappoint.
Once you have finally decided on your brew of white, green, black, oolong or herbal (told you, you will be spoilt for choice), you will have a little bit of a wait. Your tea is being brewed, precisely timed, using water at just the right temperature to preserve flavour and aromas.
However, if a hot cuppa isn’t really your game, you can also choose from a selection of tea frappes, treat yourself to a guilt free tea based cocktail(virgin but with a kick) or a bubble tea.
And to top it all, they offer a whole selection of guilt free temptation with delicious gluten free and even dairy free pretty little sweet and savoury things! How good is that?
I defy you to leave witout buying some leaves for home!
Address in London: 24 New Cavendish Street? – London W1G 8TX
