From the depths of a tropical island, far away from the internet (this post is pre-programmed :)) I wish you all a very Happy Christmas! Enjoy breaking bread with your family and your loved ones or with total strangers who wish to get merry with you. Alone, for those of you who shy from a party and the prefer peace and quiet of your own company. It takes all kinds to make a world and this evening is no exception!
As far as I am concerned, I have no restraint on that feast day. I indulge, I have some of everything that takes my fancy, I even have seconds (or thirds). I disregard any advice that says “ do not have seconds if you want to stay in shape”, because after all, I don’t know about you, but I only celebrate Christmas once a year. So enjoy I it to the full!
Of course, the day before and the day after I’ll make sure I get moving. But at a table laden with a feast of delicacies, no steamed greens for me when others are savouring foie gras with brioche bread, chocolates, fine wines and other spectacular puddings.
And tomorrow, if you feel a little heavier than yesterday, take the opportunity to eat light meals, drink plenty of alkalizing water (water + lemon or cucumber slices) to support your liver functions. Go for a walk. Get moving to get back on the horse for the next folly: December 31st!
