Today’s 4-ingredient recipe is truly foolproof! And it features one of my favorite detox foods…the apple!
I like to keep the apples with their skins in order to retain most of the fiber and some of the phytochemicals, not to mention how much prettier this pie looks with the fruit’s bright color :). Any regular pie crust will do, though I love increasing the health of this pie with a gluten-free crust. Yup, even if you’re not gluten-sensitive or intolerant, studies show that limiting gluten coupled with a healthy balanced diet supports the detoxification of your digestive system and facilitates weight loss. Who doesn’t want more of that ;)?
And where most pies call for at least a half cup of sugar (and you know what sugar does…hello cravings!), this recipe asks for just 2 pinches and a little jam…because hey, the natural sweetness in the apple is not one to compete with! Let’s celebrate an oldie but goodie with this super easy and fail-proof recipe. Ready for a pie that is guaranteed to delight?
Ingredients for 1 pie:
- 1 ready-made pie crust (gluten-free or regular)
- 2 apples (preferably Gala)
- 3 tbsp jam of your choice
- 2 pinches of brown sugar
Enjoy this apple pie warm, accompanied by a fresh berry salad or vanilla ice-cream if your sweet tooth is calling ;).
